VOX400, Alarm Activated MP3 Message Player
The new Voice Off can be triggered to play stored MP3 sound files using a hard-wired trigger such as a door contact or PIR or by software, using its new network connection or even by its RS485 input with an access control system.
VoiceOff is an affordable, professional hardware solution to play messages or sounds to welcome, warn or inform people.
It can be triggered to play one of its on-board MP3 sound files using a hard-wired trigger such as a door contact or PIR, by software, using its new network connection or via its RS485 input by interfacing it with an access control system.
The sound files are stored inside the VOX400 on a microSD card in MP3 format and the local file storage means messages are played instantly without any network delay. These sound files can be messages, alarm sounds, music or a mixture of all of them. You then can trigger the VoiceOFF to play the appropriate message or sound depending on your application, it can store and play 10K individual sound files making it more than capable of the most demanding installs.
A shop might use the VOX400 for example to play a welcome and special offer messages, an industrial unit may have a VOX400 in a yard area warning off intruders at night by saying
"This area is protected by CCTV".
A hospital might use it to play informative messages like
"Now please wash your hands"
Many end-users and installers have there own applications such as playing "doors now closing", "alarm now setting" etc. The VOX400 is an extremely flexible product for the professional installer.
The VoiceOFF has voltage free contacts that change over whenever it plays a message. You can use these contacts by a suitable interface to control lights, access or CCTV equipment. The latest VOX400 model can be triggered and controlled with software so you can even trigger the relays remotely!
Housed in an IP65 case, it can be used either outside or inside and its built it Stereo Amp delivers 10W per channel with an adjustable volume control both on the PCB and in the free VoxPlayer Lite software bundled with the product. The VOX400 has only one speaker leaving its second 10W channel available to drive a slave speaker unit the VOX120.
The FREE software VoxPlayer Lite allows a user to select a message and then trigger the VOX400 to play it remotely via a network connection. You can also adjust the volume of the unit remotely using the software. The VoxPlayer Lite software is downloaded from a link supplied with each VOX400.
VoxPlayer Pro
For more demanding applications we have also written VoxPlayer Pro which can control and schedule messages to be played from up to 20 different VoiceOFFs all controlled and managed independently. This is a perfect solution for playing various messages in-store in shops at times and frequencies to suit the environment. For example you could play special offer messages throughout the day and messages to say the store is closing in 10 minutes at the end of the day.
The VoxPlayer Pro software has a great pedigree and is our upgraded version of our scheduler software that has been used in bus depots to inform the public of messages relating to the station and also in retail parks such as Meadowhall informing the public with messages relating to the site.
VoxPlayer OEM
As we write our own software if you require custom features and applications these can be added in to our software at a cost. To do this we will need written details of your request and then would quote for the work, a non-refundable deposit would be taken.

VoiceOFF uses the MP3 file format so recording your own message and sound files is straightforward.
Once you've decided what to say and chosen who will say your message all you need is a microphone, a PC or laptop and a micro SD card. Find out exactly how to do this at the VoiceOFF website here.
VoiceOFF is a powerful message and voice annunciator, more simply thought of as,
"an MP3 file player with its own loudspeaker system, activated by programmable alarm inputs."
Just like with an MP3 player where the message and sound files are stored internally on a removable micro SD card, VoiceOFF does the same. These sound files can then be automatically triggered in many different ways by connecting a device such as a PIR sensor, door contact, burglar alarm or push button to the internal PCB. Once triggered the sound files will be played through the loud speaker to deter intruders or even welcome visitors.
If you've not already purchased a VoiceOFF, you can find out more and purchase the VoiceOFF hardware through our partner site www.VoiceOFF.com
Voice OFF can use a micro SD card up to 32GB so you can store a great number of messages on it. 10 of these can be named to match up and be triggered by the 10 alarm inputs on the VoiceOFF PCB. You can change these as often as you like, this involves going to the VoiceOFF unit itself to remove the card and update it or replace it with a new card you have written.
If VoiceOFF is part of a larger installation you might require more than 10 messages, in which case you can connect it up to a PC and trigger a massive 9999 messages! This is especially easy when you use the VoiceOFF Scheduler software to set up your preferred routines.
The VoiceOff Scheduler can control up to 9 VoiceOff units connected to the PC via a serial port to a serial port or serial port to serial port to USB adapter.
If you need control more units the LAN edition (SOFT1025) can control an infinite amount of VoiceOFF units connected to a network via a LAN relay. A typical setup might look something like this…
Yes not 1 but 10! To get you up and running, we include some free sample messages already on the free micro SD card so your VoiceOFF works straight out of the box.
“Designed specifically for the VoiceOff unit it simply adds an extra speaker to your unit allowing you to cover a larger area.”
“The VoiceOFF "VOX111" is a great way to automatically play pre-recorded messages to visitors at your business.”
“Safety helmets & high visibility jackets: must be worn beyond this point.”
